The Newsroom renewed for 3rd season

Jeff Daniels made the announcement Tuesday on Twitter, calling it “official,” though HBO itself did not issue the news.

Except, HBO have yet to back him up. There's a strong probability they will, especially judging by HBO programming president Michael Lombardo saying last month during the TCA press tour that he would be "shocked" if the series didn't return. “Conversations with Aaron Sorkin are all about scheduling, as he has other commitments… I will be shocked if you would not be hearing about a renewal soon. The numbers this season are surpassing last season.”
