Fox has announced that the animated television series ‘The Simpsons’ will certainly continue until 2017. ‘The Simpsons’ has officially got two more seasons. Season 27 for 2015-2016 and season 28 for 2016-2017. That means that the series will get 625 episodes.
“I’ve outlasted Letterman, Jon Stewart and ‘McDreamy,’ because I have something they don’t: a costly 200-donut-a-day addiction,” said Homer Simpson.
‘The Simpsons’ is the longest-scripted series in television history. The series began as early as season 1989-1990 and is currently in its 26th season. ‘The Simpsons’ won 31 Emmy Awards, 31 Annie Awards and a 2015 People's Choice Award. It was also the first animated series that has won a Peabody Award. ‘The Simpsons’ also received an Oscar nomination in 2012 for Theatrical Short: "The Longest Daycare".
