Premiere date for final season The Walking Dead

The end of the Walking Dead is nigh. At the end of this summer, the final season of the American horror series will start its run.

Even though the ending has been given a date, it will be some time before the final episode of The Walking Dead has aired. The upcoming season will have 24 episodes and will be released in parts of eight. The eleventh, final, season will premiere on the 22nd of August. AMC revealed this during the finale of the tenth season.



Back in 2010, The Walking Dead started with the first season of six episodes. By now, the fans have enjoyed 153 episodes packed with zombies. Even though the final episodes are getting near, the zombie tales from The Walking Dead will live on. Work has started on a spin-off, which revolves around fan favourites Daryl and Carol. Several other projects are also in the works.
