Netflix's new comedy series Tires gets early renewal

Netflix has given Shane Gillis' comedy series Tires an early renewal for season two.

The renewal is the latest in Netflix's growing partnership with Gillis, who recently performed three sold-out shows as part of Netflix is ​​a Joke Fest in Los Angeles. As previously announced, the channel has also ordered a new standup special from Gillis, which should premiere in 2025. His 2023 special, Beautiful Dogs, reached the Netflix Top 10 in five countries and spent two weeks on the US Top 10 list.

Tires

Gillis stars in Tires and is a writer, co-creator and executive producer. In the six-episode first season, Will (Steven Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, tries to turn around his father's business despite the constant torture of his cousin and now employee, Shane ( Gilis).

Tires also stars Chris O'Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias, with guest appearances from Andrew Schulz.

The series is directed by John McKeever. Gillis, Gerben and McKeever are the creators, writers and executive producers. Brandon James is executive producer for Rough House; Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick are executive producers for AGI Entertainment Media & Management. Becky Astphan is executive producer.

Tires is the second production from Gillis and McKeever's production company, Dad Sick Productions, after Gillis' stand-up special Beautiful Dogs.

The comedy series premiered on Netflix yesterday.
