Crime series Traces at BBC in February

BBC First will broadcast Traces near end of February. It is a six-part series, based on an original idea from crime writer Val McDermid.

Traces comes from the UKTV Gold channel and premiered in December 2019. Emma Hedges (Molly Windsor) is a laboratory assistant who becomes a member of the Scottish Institute of Forensic Science and Anatomy (SIFA). She encounters a fictional case of a murder that shows a striking resemblance to memories from her past. To find answers, Emma delves deep into forensic science, where she doesn't know she can trust. With the help of professors Sarah Gordon (Laura Fraser) and Kathy Torrance (Jennifer Spence), Emma tries to bring the killer to justice.

Traces, filmed against the backdrop of the beautiful Scottish countryside in and around Dundee, will premiere on BBC First on Thursday, February 20 at 9 p.m. In addition to Emma's central story, Traces reveals other matters and forensic disciplines that contribute to solving all kinds of mysteries about human existence.
