The renewal comes as no surprise, as the series' second season return in September was the most-watched global premiere in Paramount+ history, and the series spent the remainder of its second season in the Nielsen Top 10 streaming titles.

For season three, executive producer Dave Erickson will take over as sole showrunner. Erikson is the showrunner on Taylor Sheridan’s other series, Mayor of Kingstown, and recently signed a multi-year deal with MTV Entertainment Studios.
The announcement leaves out a few key names behind the scenes for season two. Terence Winter, who was on-again, off-again writer, is not in the mix. Craig Zisk was also brought on board last season to serve as lead director. The duo essentially split showrunning duties, with Winter handling the writing side and Zisk handling on-site production duties.
There’s no official word on when season three will air, but a return to the series in the fourth quarter of this year seems like a safe bet.
In addition to Tulsa King, Sheridan’s slate on Paramount+ includes Landman, 1923, Lioness and Mayor of Kingstown.
