No second season for Turn Up Charlie

Netflix has decided to cancel Turn Up Charlie after only one season. The lead character was portrayed by Idris Elba (Luther).

After roles in more serious series such as Luther and The Wire, Elba showed his comical side in Turn Up Charlie. Unfortunately, the series that consists of eight episodes and premiered on the 15th of March in 2019 will not return. Next to Elba, the cast included Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs) and JJ Feild (Turn). Despite cancelling this series, we haven't seen the last of Elba on Netflix. He is currently working on a modernised adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a project which he will direct as well.

In Turn Up Charlie, Elba portrays a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance for success when he becomes the nanny of his famous best friend's troublesome daughter. The news isn't officially confirmed by Netflix, but multiple sources have confirmed the upcoming cancellation.
