The American Network FOX have bought ‘Utopia’, the reality show of SBS6, from the media company of John de Mol Talpa. According to Simon Andreae of Fox ‘Utopia’ will be one of the most ambitious and social experiments ever broadcast on television
‘Utopia’ will be produced by the Talpa branch in Los Angeles and de Mol will be executive producer. According to Talpa several countries are interested in ‘Utopia’. ‘The Voice of Holland’ was first sold to an American network three years ago and has become a big international hit.
The ratings of ‘Utopia’ in The Netherlands are very unsteady. Wednesday January 22th the ratings dropped below the million but the next day the ratings were more than 1.1 million.
Fox will broadcast ‘Utopia’ for one year every week and non-stop online. When FOX is going to start with ‘Utopia’ has not yet been decided.
