Vera is a British detective series from the ITV channel. The series has been running since 2011 and the tenth season is currently airing.Vera follows the life of inspector Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn), chief of the criminal investigation department. Dressed in her large dresses, usually paired with a pair of sturdy boots, she is the scare of the police team. Vera, together with her trusted and courageous colleague Aiden Healy (Kenny Doughty), her right hand during every case, is always working with great enthusiasm and professionalism.
The Deadline website has announced that Vera has been extended by ITV for an eleventh season. Production is planned to start later this year and the new season will become available in 2021.
