I would have expected more of a War of the Worlds like the one from 2005 with Tom Cruise, but it's far from it. The SF part is minimal and it is mainly about the cringe-worthy human drama. I watched episode 7 and much does not change: how can I focus mainly on trivialities in a life-threatening situation? Yes, hope season 2 is much better when it comes. Mine for now a 5.

I saw the first 2 episodes on Fox. A slow start, getting used to because with SF you are normally in it quickly. Now little action and more character development. For now a 5. Let's see if it gets even better and what the enemy is going to do.

I too expected more. The series is very slow and there is too much emphasis on (family) drama. Drama that many SF fans are not really waiting for. At the end of almost every episode you are left with just as many questions as at the beginning. What I want to know: Why are they here? Why do they want us dead? Where do they come from? Are they really extraterrestrials or are they people from the future, for example? How did they get here (there would have been some sort of signal echo seen at the edge of our solar system, but they seem to be able to get here "instantly") so no voltage there either. But unfortunately so often with this kind of series the emphasis is placed on drama and much less on the scientific and/or SF part and that's just a shame, you saw that clearly with the series "Colony". Unfortunately, as so often with SF series, that series has been canceled and we still don't know what happened on the Moon, for example, and so many more open questions. Pity.

I enjoyed watching this series. It is more than just surviving and hoping that you can find a safe haven somewhere. Because it takes place in different places with different people, it remains fascinating for me. The little bits of mystery (why the blind girl can suddenly see, why does that one boy not die now while the others fall like bushes around him?) Make it certainly worthwhile. I am definitely looking forward to a second season!

I have to say that season 2 is less unpleasant to watch than season 1. Has more action and not the oh-so-slow and empty of the first season. I don't want to call it really good either, because again it contains not logical and useless dialogues that you should not expect in an almost exterminated world in which food or being eaten by the aliens is the main thing and personal feelings such as jealousy, envy or resentment are inferior to this. Season 2 gets a 6 from me.

Stopped after episode 2 on season 2. If you leave out the robot dogs, you'll only be left with a sad and boring story. This War of the Worlds series is a deep disappointment.
