Creator Damon Lindelof has now indicated that he is not interested in making a new season of Watchmen (2019). As far as he is concerned, he has already shown everything he wanted with the first season of nine episodes. According to HBO, he has given permission to make a second season without him, but whether that will happen is extremely uncertain.
Head of HBO programming Casey Bloys has reported the following about a possible follow-up without the input of Damon Lindelof: "It would be difficult to realize such a thing without Damon being involved in any way." The chance that the Watchmen series (2019) will get a second season is therefore unlikely.
