Watson with Morris Chestnut gets premiere date from CBS

Morris Chestnut, known for Hulu's Reasonable Doubt and Peacock's The Best Man: The Final Chapters, is returning to prime time.
Inspired by the characters from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes mysteries, Watson is set six months after the death of Sherlock Holmes, the main character's friend and partner, at the hands of Moriarty. The modern version follows the historical detective as he shifts his focus from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.

Chestnut plays the role of Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as head of a clinic for the treatment of rare diseases. But Watson isn't done with his old life yet – Moriarty and Watson are ready to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century.

The series also stars Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann and Rochelle Aytes.

The new CBS series premieres on Sunday, January 26, following the AFC Championship game. The series will air at approximately 10:00 PM, depending on the end time of the competition, before the medical drama premieres on Sunday, February 16 at 10:00 PM.

Watson is produced by CBS Studios. Craig Sweeny wrote the first episode and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers include Morris Chestnut; Sally Patrick; Larry Teng; Sharon Moalem MD, PhD; Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment; and Brian Morewitz. Larry Teng also directed the first two episodes. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
