In September, Netflix unveiled new footage from season two at a fan event in Atlanta. The video featured original cast members Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and of course Thing (Victor Dorobantu), who returned to the set of Nevermore Academy.
The series also has some familiar names returning for season two: Lady Gaga, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O'Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo. Lloyd played Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family film.
Filming began in Ireland in May – a change from the first season, which was shot mainly in Romania. The debut season of Wednesday was Netflix's most popular English-language series when it released in 2023, with 252 million views, and spent 20 weeks in the streamer's global Top 10. In the first season, Wednesday went in search of the mysterious monster that destroyed Nevermore.
