The decision comes as Paramount+ continues to cut costs, which includes mass layoffs. Bob Bakish told his team in a memo on Thursday that the company will continue to reduce its global workforce "to operate as a leaner company and spend less," after revealing over the weekend that the company was bracing for more workforce cuts, probably in the hundreds, including the program teams.
Bakish said Paramount will "closely control costs" and said it is "focusing our resources on the strongest, most resonant franchises, films and series performing globally across platforms."
Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy, Everett (Armani Jackson) and teenage girl, Blake (Bella Shepard), whose lives are changed forever when a wildfire in California awakens a terrifying supernatural being.
Wounded in the chaos of his attack, the teens are inexplicably drawn to each other and two others, twins Harlan (Tyler Lawrence Gray) and Luna (Chloe Rose Robertson), who were adopted by a park ranger sixteen years earlier after another mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them - the bite and blood of a werewolf.
Rodrigo Santoro (Lost) also stars in the series, which premiered in January 2023.
