Annette Bening cast in Yellowstone (2018) spin-off about Beth & Rip

A Yellowstone (2018) spin-off centered on the characters of Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser is getting reinforcement from a big name: Annette Bening.
Annette Bening is joining the Paramount+ spinoff series, tentatively titled The Dutton Ranch. The story picks up after the original series concludes, with Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) moving to a new ranch. Finn Little also returns as Carter.

The series will be showrunnered by Chad Feehan. Feehan previously worked with Yellowstone (2018) creator Taylor Sheridan on Lawmen: Bass Reeves and has credits with Rectify (Sundance TV), Ray Donovan (Showtime), and Banshee (Cinemax).

Bening plays Beulah Jackson, a powerful, cunning, and charming woman who runs a vast Texas ranching empire. She follows previous stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren (1923) and Michelle Pfeiffer (upcoming spinoff The Madison) into the Yellowstone universe.

The Dutton Ranch is part of the growing Yellowstone (2018) franchise, which already includes the prequel series 1883 and 1923, the upcoming The Madison, and the upcoming CBS series Y: Marshals. An additional prequel, 1944, is also in development.

Annette Bening was recently nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film Nyad and starred in Apple's Never Fall (Peacock) and the film Death on the Nile. She will soon appear opposite Anya Taylor-Joy in the Apple TV+ miniseries Lucky (2025).
