Canadian actress Alberta Watson, perhaps best known for her recurring role as Erin Driscoll in Fox's drama ‘ 24’, has died. “It is the case, sadly. Alberta passed away on Saturday evening at Kensington Hospice in Toronto. Her husband Ken was by her side. We await details of a memorial service for her.” said her agent Pam Winter.
In her nearly 40-year career, Watson appeared in many TV shows and feature films, including television series as ‘The Border’, ‘Hill Street Blues’, ‘The Equalizer’, ‘Law and Order’ and on ABC hit television series ‘La Femme Nikita’. But it was her role in the fourth season of Fox's ‘ 24’ that she will be best remembered. As Erin Driscoll, the new Director of the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit, her first decision was to fire Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).
After ‘ 24’ she played Senator Madeline Pierce in The CW’s Nikita in 2011-12. That turned out to be her last role.
Alberta Watson was 60 years old.
