Seasons two and three of 3 Body Problem are being filmed back to back

3 Body Problem has not yet started production on its second season, but that will change soon. What's On Netflix reports that seasons two and three will film back-to-back without a break, with production starting later this spring and running through 2027. The series was renewed for two seasons in June 2024.

It has also been reported that production for season two will move from the UK to Hungary. Netflix has not confirmed this, but Jeremy Podeswa, the series' director and producer, was recently seen in the country shooting and possibly scouting locations for filming.

"We're thrilled to tell this story all the way to its epic conclusion. Ever since we read the final page of Cixin Liu's magnificent trilogy, we've hoped to take audiences to the end of the universe. Here we go!" Benioff, Weiss and Woo shared in a joint statement last year following Netflix's two-season renewal.

Liam Cunningham, Jess Hong, Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Eiza González, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong, Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer and Eve Ridley star in the series inspired by Cixin Liu's novel trilogy.

The start date for season two of the series will be announced at a later date.
