3 Body Problem Casts The Boys Actress in a Regular Role in Season Two

Two new actors join the cast of Netflix series 3 Body Problem in series regular roles for its second season. In season two, humanity faces the immense challenge of an impending alien invasion, with preparations underway both on Earth and beyond. New characters are expected to play a significant role in this next phase of the story.

3 Body Problem follows the impact of a crucial decision made by a young woman in 1960s China, extending into the present day. The series follows a group of brilliant scientists and a determined detective working together when the laws of nature suddenly begin to fail, leading to a confrontation with an alien civilization—and an existential threat to humanity.

The first season featured a strong ensemble cast, including Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Benedict Wong, Rosalind Chao, and Jonathan Pryce.

3 Body Problems, based on the popular trilogy Remembrance of Earth’s Past by Chinese author Cixin Liu, proved a global success. The series spent three weeks at number one on the Netflix Global Top 10 and was in the Top 10 in 93 countries.

Two new actors have now joined the cast for the second season: Ellie de Lange, known from The Jewish Council and The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and Claudia Doumit, known as Victoria Neuman from The Boys.

Doumit will play Captain Van Rijn, and De Lange will play Ayla. Doumit will also soon be seen in the film SOULM8TE, a spin-off of M3GAN. De Lange will soon be seen in the new Netflix series Run Away, based on a book by Harlan Coben.

With the addition of Doumit and De Lange, 3 Body Problem gains two strong actresses for its second season, which will further deepen the storyline as an interstellar conflict looms.
