FX revealed more about the upcoming series in the press release below:
"FX's A Murder at the End of the World, a murder mystery series set on the remote and isolated estate of a reclusive billionaire, today released a new title and official first footage. Formerly known as Retreat, the series features Emma Corrin , Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson and Brit Marling in the lead roles and will premiere exclusively on Hulu in August.
A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series starring a new breed of detective - a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker named Darby Hart (Emma Corrin). Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to join a retreat in a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.
A Murder at the End of the World stars Emma Corrin (The Crown), Clive Owen (The Knick), Harris Dickinson (Trust (2018)), Brit Marling (The OA), Alice Braga (Queen of the South), Joan Chen (Marco Polo), Raúl Esparza (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Jermaine Fowler (Crashing (2017)), Ryan J. Haddad (The Politician (2019)), Pegah Ferydoni (SOKO Hamburg), Javed Khan (Gangs of London), Louis Cancelmi (Billions), Edoardo Ballerini (Quarry), Britian Seibert (The Knick), Christopher Gurr (The Blacklist), Kellan Tetlow (This Is Us), Daniel Olson (Our Flag Means Death) and Neal Huff ( The Sinner) starring.
A Murder at the End of the World was created and directed by Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij. Marling and Batmanglij also serve as executive producers, alongside Andrea Sperling (Transparent), Melanie Marnich and Nicki Paluga. The seven-episode limited series is produced by FX Productions and filmed in Iceland, New Jersey and Utah.
