FX postpones premiere date for A Murder at the End of the World due to strikes

The premiere date for miniseries A Murder at the End of the World, starring Emma Corrin, Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson and Brit Marling, has been pushed back by FX.
The Disney network has moved A Murder at the End of the World, which was created by Marling and Zal Batmanglij, from August 29 to November.

The move comes amid a double strike by writers and actors and is likely one of, if not the first, high-profile television series off the fall schedule to have its premiere date pushed back as a result of the union action.

Actors and writers are unable to press and promote for striking companies during the strikes, making it difficult to generate buzz for a series, especially if it is original and not based on existing titles.

The series will now make its Hulu-exclusive debut in November, though an exact date has not yet been set.

Set on the remote and isolated estate of a reclusive billionaire, the seven-part series stars Emma Corrin (The Crown) as amateur sleuth Darby Hart, a Gen Z-class tech-savvy hacker. Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen, The Knick) to join a retreat in a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.

In addition to Corrin and Owen, A Murder at the End of the World also stars Brit Marling (The OA), Harris Dickonson (Trust (2018)), Alice Braga (Queen of the South), Joan Chen (Marco Polo), Raúl Esparza ( Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Jermaine Fowler (Crashing (2017)), Ryan J. Haddad (The Politician (2019)), Pegah Ferydoni (SOKO Hamburg), Javed Khan (Gangs of London), Louis Cancelmi (Billions), Edoardo Ballerini (Quarry), Britian Seibert (The Knick), Christopher Gurr (The Blacklist), Kellan Tetlow (This Is Us), Daniel Olson (Our Flag Means Death) and Neal Huff (The Sinner).

Marling and Batmanglij co-produce with Andrea Sperling, Melanie Marnich and Nicki Paluga. The series is produced by FX Productions and was filmed in Iceland, New Jersey and Utah.
