Crossover between Abbott Elementary and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in season four

The Gang takes a trip to Abbott Elementary.
The ABC series will make a crossover with FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in season four. Rob McElhenney, Danny Devito and Charlie Day will appear in the episode, as confirmed by a photo posted to social media on Thursday.

Pictured are the cast members of Sunny alongside Abbott actress and creator Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams and William Stanford Davis. There's no telling who else the Paddy's Pub crew will reunite with in the episode.

The cast of Abbott Elementary has been sharing this epic crossover for months. Brunson hinted at the episode in July at San Diego Comic-Con. While she didn't reveal the crossover at the time, she did say it would "change television as we know it."

At the Emmys in September, lead actress Sheryl Lee Ralph also said she felt the crossover would "change television." At the time, she said she didn't know the details of the episode, including which series they would crossover with, which would indicate the episode was filmed very recently.

She also said that the cast just finished filming their Halloween episode, so expect to see the Sunny crew sometime after that. The exact air date of the episode has not yet been announced.

Season four of Abbott Elementary kicks off on Wednesday, October 9. Brunson, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein are executive producers.
