Barbarians Rising is een Amerikaanse miniserie van de zender History. De serie ging in première op 6 juni 2016.
De serie vertelt vanuit het perspectief van de rebellenleiders het verhaal van een golf van opstandelingen tegen de absolute macht van het Romeinse Rijk. De zogenoemde "barbaren" werden niet gezien als normale beschaving en leefden een brute en gewelddadig bestaan. Deze mannen en vrouwen hebben meegedragen aan de epische strijd die de huidige wereld vorm gaf, in een eeuwenlang gevecht om het overweldigende rijk te verslaan.
Castleden zijn onder andere Nicholas Pinnock als Hannibal, Ben Batt als Spartacus, Kirsty Mitchell als Boudica, Tom Hopper als Arminius, Emil Hostina als Attila, Gavin Drea als Alaric, Steven Waddington als Fritigern, Richard Brake als Geiseric en Jefferson Hall als Viriathus.

Sorry, but the History Channel really got it a bit wrong by turning it into a documentary. How annoying is it constantly that people come through, the "experts" who give additions every time. They really should have turned it into a Vikings-like series, then I would have been hooked after 2 seconds. Sin.

On the one hand, I understand your disappointment, but on the other hand, it is clear that History Channel intends to remain as truthful as possible here, where Vikings, even though the fans love it, is practically pure fiction based on sages and legends about seven different kings. which they project onto one figure. So I don't think it's really a shame. On the other hand, you can of course ask yourself how many "experts" you need to give an opinion because having someone else have their say half the time is also a bit too much. By the way, for the History Channel you are apparently already an "expert" as soon as you have a military background, stand up for human rights or even if you are just around when they need someone.

Yes exactly my idea CC. Then I see that CEO who is also in SharkTank talking about how much perseverance you must have in this world, then I really think man man man History Channel. Add to that that woman from politics and that general and I really wonder why they did it that way. Maybe my expectation was just too great. Considering the trailer, I thought of a whole new cool series about barbarians who would smash everything to pieces, unfortunately it is wrong ...

If you are expecting a series like Vikings or something like that then you better not start it because this is just a documentary that is half acted and the other half of the time everyone who happened to be around during the shooting comes. have his / her say about the whole thing.
