Bates Motel is een Amerikaanse mysterieuze dramaserie van de zender A&E. De serie ging in première op 18 maart 2013.
Bates Motel geeft de kijkers intieme kennis van hoe de zestienjarige Norman Bates zich, op basis van zijn jeugd en onder invloed van zijn dominante moeder Norma, ontwikkeld door zijn tienerjaren. Vervolgens begint Norman zijn gedrag te vertonen en langzaam verandert hij in het dorpje, dat duisteren geheimen heeft. En uiteindelijk groeit Norman uit en ontspoort hij tot de meest beroemde seriemoordenaar in een dorpje van Noord-Californië.

Great series. Actor who plays Norman Bates fantastic too. Of course his mother too. I was already hooked on Episode 1 Season 1. Is now in season 4. super recommended though.

I really liked the first episode. It is also more about the isolation in which the dead become undead and their assimilation and reintegration into society and the difficulties that this entails. They are outcasts who are not accepted and try to find their place in the society that makes them responsible for all the abuses that exist in the community. I thought it was really great and well executed. The character development was top notch, the build-up just right and the plot is captivating. So the ingredients for good TV. Next week I'll be done for sure and the review for the whole season will follow.

For me, Nora is the one who steals the show, Norman slippery creep who doesn't really stand out yet, but maybe that's because I don't see Anthony Perkins in it.
