I'm halfway through season 2 now and I have to say that I really like this series. You have to be careful here that you see everything in the right order, otherwise you don't understand it at all. You can see on the following website which order you have to follow. This is related to individual web series, TV series & TV movies. http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.nl/2010/02/battlestar-galactica-viewing-order.html

Thanks in any case for the tip with the order to watch, because (thanks to TVDB) the order of episodes (and specials that are not specials) is of course also a mess on this site. At least, I do not call a mini-series that is broadcast 2 years before a series, but a single mini-series. But who am I. Although I am only almost at the end of season 1 I have to say that this is indeed a very nice series to follow. But ..., because there is always a but, she is not that nice or good to give it a 10. First, too many flashbacks are used. Normally that might just be possible, but one and the same flashback about 6 times later I assume is only intended for those who missed it the previous 5 times. Then there are errors or things that are very unlikely even for a sci-fi series. Which does not alter the fact that it is a very nice series so far. I will keep looking further because I expect various oddities and "specials" in the coming seasons ;-)

The great thing is that this series just doesn't get boring. Doesn't matter how many times you've seen the series. Every time I keep noticing things that I missed last time.

This is truly one of the best series ever. Even if you don't like sci-fi. The storylines are about contemporary issues and (world) problems and the acting is also very good. This series actually deserves a good review on this site too. Maybe I'll sit down for that one day.

This was just a kick-ass series. It took years for the revival to hit the air, but it was worth the wait. Halfway through the 3rd season, things got a bit rough. I have yet to watch Season 4, so I recently started all over again.

It took a long time before I started following the series, so I could watch all episodes one after the other. This is the best series I have ever watched so far.

Very good series. Storylines fit together beautifully and humanity is not portrayed more beautifully than it is. High 'Who is the Cylon' content.

For a pretty good series (so far) they occasionally go seriously off the corner, I have already noticed. Because even though you are allowed a little more in the sci-fi genre than in any other, there are limits, let that be clear. A general comment concerns the music. A series like this that has its own separate music score and thus creates its own atmosphere does not have to be borrowed from someone else for me, quite the contrary. I think using the film music of Stars Wars as during the first season is just a wrong move, even if it does not detract from the series. Later in the series, the music of "The Deer Hunter" is also featured. Season 1 At a certain point when Starbuck is training new pilots and suddenly 8 cylon ships appear, Starbuck goes on the attack alone. Nothing wrong with that, you would say because we all love a woman with balls on her body. Well, whether or not she is shot down by a recruit's interference, she lands on some planet where she finds the last Cylon ship she shot herself. Not only does the ship turn out to be the cylon itself, but she also knows how to hollow out the inside with her knife in order to restart the ship with control of the intestines and fly away, which in itself may be called a clever feat of ingenuity. of our heroine. So far all right you would say, but once in space when she meets the ship of Apollo it turns out that either on the wild, deserted planet from which she comes, or in the bowels of the cylon (because that is also possible) brush and a can of yellow paint she used to paint her name on the underside of the Cylon ship .... Do I really believe this? So no :-) Another strange fact I found the press conferences of Madam President. Where I am in the series, the total population on board the colonial ships is something like 48,000 people who, it seems, are all informed of the latest facts and current situation through the same channel. Yet at every press conference there are about 30 journalists listening carefully with a microphone, recorder or notebook ... Mosquito sifting? Perhaps. Overkill? Definitely :-) Season 2 What consumes the most energy? A defibrillator or an FTL jump? You will learn it all in Battlestar Galactica! :-) Commander Adama who was shot in the last episode of season 1 is in the infirmary and goes into cardiac arrest. When it is suggested to use the defibrillator to get his heart going again, it is said that this is not possible due to the fact that the ship is already powered by its emergency generators. No problem, we take a scalpel and cut it open and switch to manual work to revive that heart is the response. True heroes, you can even find them in the farthest corners of the universe ... Until a few minutes later the enemy approaches and the Galactica roars all the guns to save the crew, then immediately followed by an FTL jump in which the ship from one moment to the next ends up on the other side of the universe, you know. For those not aware: FTL means as much as "Faster Than Light" and does not seem to me to be the most energy efficient option to move a spaceship from point A to point B, even in the distant future. Unfortunately, there is hardly any documentation on this, so that it remains a guess as to actual consumption. Where there is enough information about it are defibrillators which, if my source is a bit correct, consume an average power equal to a normal 100w lamp that burns for 3 (THREE) seconds. I want to see the first FTL jump that can do this more economically! Spring mines on Kobol "Bouncing Betty" was the nickname given by the Allies to the best-known type of anti-personnel mine, designed by the Germans and used extensively during WWII. The principle is quite simple, when the mine was activated by a passer-by, a small explosion caused the mine to jump 0.90 to 1.50 meters and a fraction of a second later the mine itself exploded. Due to the height at which it detonated and the fact that it contained some 360 steel balls or scrap metal, the result at close range was usually devastating to anyone in close proximity. During the trip to Kobol, Elosha, the Oracle, manages to activate 2 mines at the same time. Elosha may die but looks like she bit her lip. Not quite the visual damage I would expect from a spring mine or 2 ... High tech era or not? A reporter with a camera crew is allowed to film on board the Galactica. However, the images that are played are of poorer quality than you would expect in a high-tech era. This could have been more convincing in 2005 when the series was made. "And so say all" I still have a lot to go, so there will undoubtedly be a follow-up to my comment, on this otherwise quite nice series for the not too critical viewer ;-)
