Premiere date and trailer released for Hulu's murder mystery Black Cake

Black Cake is coming soon to Hulu. The streaming service has announced the premiere date of the new drama series with the release of a trailer. With Mia Isaac, Adrienne Warren (Women of the Movement), Chipo Chung (Into the Badlands), Ashley Thomas (Them), Lashay Anderson (Rebel Cheer Squad: A Get Even Series), Faith Alabi (We Are Who We Are) and Starring Glynn Turman (Fargo), the Hulu series is based on Charmaine Wilkerson's bestseller and is set in Jamaica, Italy, Scotland, England and Southern California. Ahmed Eljah (Dangerous Liaisons), Simon Wan (Peaky Blinders) and Sonita Henry (Krypton) have recurring roles in the series.

Eight episodes were produced for the series.



The story begins in the late 1960s when a runaway bride named Covey disappears in the surf off the coast of Jamaica and is feared to have drowned or to be on the run for her husband's murder. In present-day California, a widow, Eleanor Bennett, loses her battle with cancer. She leaves her two estranged children, Byron and Benny, a flash drive containing untold stories about her journey from the Caribbean to America. These stories, told by Eleanor, shock her children and challenge everything they thought they knew about their family's origins.

The limited series Black Cake will be released on Wednesday, November 1.
