Advantage of watching this series, you appreciate TWD again. Very mediocre series so far (episode 5 now), very annoying those chapters in between, far from convinced!

Also agree. Wanted to comment myself: I am really a fan of the zombie genre, but I think this is quite cliché, the acting is not very good and the chapters always really take you out of the flow.

The resemblance with TWD cannot be drawn here and cannot be judged as such. that would be comparing apples to pears. TWD was especially slow in the first two seasons, patience was required and the acting was, to the point of annoyance, bad for a few. But nevertheless, I have now been a loyal viewer of it for almost 9 years now. I watched Black Summer all 8 episodes in one go and I really liked it. I think it is really recommended. There is action in which you have to keep your attention, different storylines that are intertwined in a fun way and I don't find the staggering past / present / present disturbing at all. This makes it correct that you must remain alert while watching.

The 1st 2 season of TWD were just 2 of the best, because then Frank Darabont was still behind it. Unfortunately, he said goodbye halfway through season 2 and then the level slowly dropped. I've seen 3 eps of Black Summer so far. Attention is not necessary until now. Once you die you transform into a zombie-like creature. There are few innovative elements in it so far. Funny for in between, but that's all.

I am very excited about this series. The experiences of a group of escapees are followed, whereby in chapters that always have a name, the viewer is presented with a rapid rush of situations. A handheld camera is often used, which puts you in the middle of the action. The goal of the escapees is to eventually reach a stadium. I think the chapters are a very good find from the makers. The Z Nation series is the sequel to Black Summer.

What a vague series, there is no story to tell and what they show runs in such a strange order that if you don't pay attention you have no idea. My advice only watch if you have time to spare.
