Božena is an Czech drama series which is aired on ČT1. The series premiered on January 3rd, 2021.

The true story of the first Czech writer in four television films. Seventeen-year-old Bára is a rebellious, eager and free-spirited girl. She prefers reading to baking. In addition, she attracts the interest of men. Her parents can no longer handle her, so they look for a groom who would marry her even without a dowry. The best match is Josef Němec, a retired civil servant fifteen years older. The young, uninhibited girl has bewitched him. Josef does not even listen to his friend's warnings. Bára resists the marriage, but against the will of her parents, she has no chance. Two contradictory personalities step into a life together. The year is 1837...
