You are single. No one who is going to write the law for you. If you want to shove a pizza in Hawaii every night on the couch in your ketchup-stained sweatpants while watching The Big Bang Theory re-runs indefinitely, you will. Do you only get out of bed at the weekend when the world outside has already spent half a day on it? Can just. And when your libido whispers in your ear with every passing miniskirt or shapely jeans that it is really time to let off some steam, then you put your head in the make-up or run the clippers through your hipster beard and hit in the club just a juicy appearance on the hook. Nothing to worry about. At least… Then a month later - after urinating on a stick - you should of course not have to call that trimmed demigod with shiny coal-black hair to say that he will accidentally become a father. And this is exactly what happens to Sharon and Rob in Channel 4's new comedy Catastrophe. The American Rob is on a business trip in England and one evening in a pub stumbles upon the cheerful Sharon. After the ceremonial drinks, it's time to let the animal instincts take over and soon the underpants are dangling from the lampshade of Rob's hotel room. Somewhere in between, there was still time to exchange numbers, because once back on American soil, Rob gets Sharon on the line. His swimmers have swum vigorously towards their target and it hits the mark. That's something for me too. And now? Well, how about watching the series to see how it all turns out? You won't hit your thighs deep purple with laughter, but Catastrophe is certainly good for a restrained grunt or chuckle from time to time. Especially the chemistry between Rob and Sharon is more than once cause for smile. If you can appreciate the subtle humor in series like Girls, Hello Ladies and You're The Worst, then you'll love this one too. The Channel 4 series are fine for the roadside anyway. Utopia, Top Boy and Peep Show are all worth a look.
