Dag & Nacht staan ze klaar. In het ziekenhuis waar klinisch verloskundige Ella hoofd is van de afdeling verloskunde, maakt het personeel lange dagen. Zware werkomstandigheden en een personeelstekort zorgen voor veel stress en problemen. Elke dag begeleidt Ella met haar collega’s de meest uiteenlopende bevallingen, waarbij pijn en extase hand in hand gaan en momenten van diep geluk en peilloos verdriet elkaar binnen een seconde af kunnen wisselen. Watched this surprisingly good series on NPO Plus and it is highly recommended! Looks nice and there is no overacting!

A drama series in the hospital. How nice, this time no doctor's novel but real drama in the Obstetrics department. Although I have little experience with this and I do not recognize myself in it. This series remains fascinating. The playing is strong and convincing. I'm curious if I'll end up dropping out because of a little too much baby crying. We'll see what else is going on besides the birth itself.

The series Dag & Nacht laid a strong foundation in the first two seasons, primarily thanks to the convincing performances of Kim van Kooten and Benja Bruijning. Their characters brought not only emotional depth but also a natural chemistry that elevated the series to a higher level.
In season 3, however, it is immediately noticeable that their absence leaves a significant void. While the earlier seasons relied on their dynamic and character development, this season feels noticeably weaker and less cohesive. The new storylines cannot fully compensate for this loss, causing the series to lose some of its charm and identity.
Additionally, the balance between drama and realism seems to work less well without these lead roles. As a result, the series feels less compelling and sometimes a bit flatter, as if an important foundation is missing. For viewers who watched specifically for these actors and their storylines, season 3 may feel disappointing.

I think it's a beautiful, honest series, with nice background music, sometimes a bit too soft, but a breath of fresh air compared to all the violence in some series.
