Danger 5 is een Australische komedieserie van de zender SBS. De serie ging in première op 27 februari 2012.
De serie draait om Danger 5, een groep van spionnen in blauwe uniformen die een thuisbasis hebben in de wand van een berg. Waarschijnlijk is dit een parodie op de Thunderbirds. De groep bestaat uit Tucker, Claire, Jackson, Pierre, Ilsa en hun baas Chestbridge. Aan het begin van iedere aflevering komt Chestbridge de kamer binnen lopen en vertelt over een duivels plan dat Hitler aan het uitvoeren is. Het doel van de spionnen is om dit plan te verijdelen maar Chestbridge eindigt zijn instructies altijd met: vergeet niet de hoofdmissie, vermoord Hitler.

Imagine that Hitler had decided not to start his great advance until the sixties and that he would have used trained brontosaurs with rocket launchers on their back (yes, you read that right). And suppose there had been a five-person elite team who - led by a dude with an eagle-headed head - would do everything in their power to quell Adolf's hunger for world domination. Suppose this had been the course of history and suppose a writer with an enormous fondness for German porn music, the Thunderbirds and horribly ill-dubbed low-budget action films made a series about it, then that was Danger 5. Indeed, it is really as ridiculously absurd as it sounds. It is Hans Teeuwen dressed up as a series. You probably feel this best when you are as stoned as a shrimp on the couch with a persistent eating kick. Danger 5 is therefore not for everyone. In fact, I think it's only for a few. I myself am also not quite sure what exactly I think about it. What do you have to say about a series that calls its episodes “Fresh meat for Hitler's sex kitchen” and “Lizard soldiers of the Third Reich”? About a series with such deliberately bad acting that you almost start to admire it? You tell me. In any case, it is nice that those crazy Australians have dared to take a completely different approach. That they have found a form that I have not seen before, except for The Spoils Of Babylon. Some will be short of superlatives after watching this madhouse, others will turn off the first episode in complete confusion after just 5 minutes and I understand both. Since poldering is in my blood as a Dutchman, I will therefore sit somewhere in the middle. A 7+ on the Gumstarr scale. And if you think the story is too out there, but you really appreciate the style, give The Spoils Of Babylon a try. Same vibe, but much more manageable.
