Amanda Brugel Promoted to Series Regular for Dark Matter Season 2 (2024)

Apple TV+'s Dark Matter (2024) has promoted Amanda Brugel to series regular for season two.
Additionally, Chris Diamantopoulos (pictured) joins the ensemble led by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, who also serve as executive producers.

Based on the critically acclaimed book by Blake Crouch, Dark Matter (2024) follows Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor, and family man who, while walking home one night on the streets of Chicago, is abducted into an alternate version of his life.

Wonder quickly turns to nightmares as he attempts to return to his reality amid the multiverse of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of mind-bending realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to return to his real family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable enemy imaginable: himself.

Also starring Alice Braga, Oakes Fegley, Dayo Okeniyi, and Jimmi Simpson.

As reported in 2022, Brugel (pictured) has joined the cast in the recurring role of Blaire, Daniella’s (Connelly) close friend. Details about Diamantopoulos’ recurring role are under wraps.

Brugel played Rita Blue in five seasons of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, opposite Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, and Ann Dowd. She earned four SAG Award nominations as part of the Best Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series. She will reprise her role in the sixth and final season, which premieres Tuesday, April 8.

Diamantopoulos will soon be seen in the Amazon Prime series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, opposite Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch. Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Russ on HBO's Silicon Valley, he has played film characters ranging from Moe Howard in the Farrelly Brothers' The Three Stooges to journalist Royal Brougham in George Clooney's The Boys in the Boat to the sadistic Sotto Vocce in Netflix's Red Notice. He also appeared in the Netflix crime drama True Story and Damon Lindelof's Mrs. Davis for Peacock.
