Very good and impressive Dutch series about the Jewish Council during the Second World War with excellent acting! Highly recommended!! The Jewish Council, or Jewish Council, was an organization founded in the Netherlands during the Second World War by order of the German occupiers. The purpose was to govern the Jewish community and promote their interests, according to the instructions of the Nazis. The Jewish Council was founded in February 1941 and was led by Abraham Asscher and David Cohen. Although some members of the Council tried to protect the interests of the Jewish population, they were ultimately forced to participate in the deportation of Jews to concentration and extermination camps. The Council faced a difficult dilemma: work together to improve the situation of the Jews or refuse and run the risk that the Germans would take harsher action. It is a controversial topic and there are differing opinions about the role and responsibility of the Jewish Council during that period. The fact remains that the Jewish Council made it very easy for the Germans to deport the Jews from the Netherlands....

Strongly acted and intensely portrayed. Final episode, part 5 is perhaps the most painful and confrontational of this series.
