Deadwood is een Amerikaanse westernserie van de zender HBO. De serie ging in première op 21 maart 2004.
Deadwood speelt zich af aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw in Deadwood (South Dakota), een stadje dat toentertijd beheerst werd door de goudkoorts. Een helse plaats vol misdaad en corruptie. Het leven is er hard, keihard. Een menigte rusteloze mislukkelingen die koortsachtig op zoek is naar goud, trekt naar deze vogelvrije nederzetting waar alles en iedereen te koop is. De kolonisten, van een ex-politieman tot een berekenende saloon-eigenaar en van de legendarische Wild Bill Hickok tot Calamity Jane, moeten ten koste van alles zien te overleven. Welkom in Deadwood... Een helse plaats om fortuin te maken.

Already swearing, best character ever. I don't often give a 10, but this series deserves it. It's a shame that this series only has 3 seasons.

A western as a western is meant to be. Men with mustaches, hats and willing barkers, women with crinolines and mini barkers hidden between the suspenders, saloon fights, gold rush, pitch & feathers, duels in the high street, think wild west and it's in it. Not a storyline full of fireworks, but that was not in the Sopranos and yet it is the best series ever. More of a series where you get into a certain kind of rhythm and don't want to stop watching.

This has become one of my all time favorites .. great western and characters, almost legendary .. already swearing, jane !!! , bullock, charlie, eb farnum the doc .. 1 for 1 great cast .. you really have the idea of being in the middle of the wild west here .. lifelike, pleasure to see !! That 1st episode, driving into the city of deadwood is insane !! From that moment on you are just glued to the tube .. hooked !! Wonder if there will ever be a series that comes close to this great western series !! Totally agree with gumstarr .. Big 9 !!

This series has good reviews am now on season 2 but for me the series is not looking good somehow each episode just doesn't end which piques my curiosity to watch the next episode...

I thought it was a great series and am very disappointed that there is no progress, there are still countless loose ends, so much that they could make a few more episodes. I really liked the 2 pub owners and the drunken lor. unfortunately. this is how it went in the 1850s/1920s.

Too bad about the open ending, a brilliant series like Deadwood deserves a real ending. The makers should somehow have a contractual obligation to provide a closing ending for canceled series. A good example is the film Serenity, which closes the prematurely defunct Firefly. For Continuum, there would also be a 6-part mini-season to give the series a decent ending.
