NBC cancels Debris after its first season

There will not be a second season for Debris. The American science fiction series premiered on NBC in March.
The last episode of the first season aired on the 24th of May. Turns out, this will also be the final episode to air on NBC, as the network has decided to cancel the series. Thirteen episodes have been released. The series could be taken over by a different network or streaming service. Creator J.H. Wyman (Fringe) is determined to continue telling the story. “because I think that the story itself is really a story worth writing about.”, he said.

Debris revolves around two police officers from two different continents. They have a different way of thinking, but when debris from a destroyed extraterrestrial vessel has mysterious effects on humanity, they have to work together.

Now that Debris has been cancelled, it seems even more likely for Manifest to be renewed. Manifest is the series with the best ratings of which it isn't sure whether or not it will be renewed. Supposedly, the creators are still in ongoing talks with NBC about a potential fourth season.
