It takes some getting used to and sometimes some digging when references are made to the predecessor of this series. The beginning is especially slow, I think, then it is exciting again as usual, as Dexter always is. Still, I expected a bit more than what came out. Definitely recommended if you have seen everything from Dexter, otherwise I would first recommend the original.
I've been looking for years to see if there were even the slightest rumors of a possible sequel and a little over a year ago it happened. Dexter returns, from Miami to the cold north of New York State. And then you start to think, will it really catch on or will it be a cheap fiasco? What is the new Dexter without Debra? For the sake of certainty and memory, I rewatched the previous 8 seasons to remember everything clearly and I wondered... Do I really have to watch the new Dexter or will it be something like a "waste of my spare time"? Fuck... yes... you have to watch this. If you have seen Dexter in the past, you are simply obliged to watch the sequel. It's hard to say what's so good without spoiling what viewers will see who haven't seen it yet. I would have loved to vote for Debra for best actor/actress, but that wouldn't be right, her role wasn't enough for that, but it was very good. And now I'm thinking, could there be a sequel?
A sequel after such a long time remains to be seen whether it can meet expectations again, but for me it was a resounding YES! Had to get stuck in with episode 1, but after that you just want to continue watching. Unfortunately, the ending was somewhat disappointing (as I often do with series), but on the other hand I see possibilities for a sequel. I wouldn't mind 🤗
I am very interested in this! The first episode will be broadcast in America on November 7. Trailer (online since yesterday): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9H1uSS_zkk
This season is also great, nice that some key figures from previous seasons are mentioned, although they no longer play a real role. Just as exciting as previous seasons. Only Dexter as father, how does that end? Is this finally over after this, I hope not. This series is still in my top 3 best series ever.
