Christian Slater plays Harry Morgan, the adoptive father of young Dexter, who is played by Patrick Gibson. But Michael C. Hall also reprises his iconic role as Dexter, although you will only hear him in this new series. Hall is the narrator and inner voice of young Dexter.
The cast is also joined by Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer, Molly Brown as Deb Morgan, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, Christina Milian as Maria LaGueta, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt and in a guest role, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tanya.
Dexter: Original Sin is a prequel to the series Dexter that first came out in 2006 and ran for eight seasons. In it, Michael C. Hall played the forensic investigator Dexter Morgan for the first time. He works for the Miami police as a blood spatter pattern investigator in the homicide department.
He is also a serial killer. From his adoptive father Harry - whom we get to know better in Dexter: Original Sin - he learned to only kill those who 'deserve' it: other murderers who escaped punishment. The other rule Harry taught him was to never get caught. Dexter is constantly looking for the balance between his insatiable urge and a 'normal' life.
The popular series received many nominations and awards, including two Golden Globes and 24 Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Dexter: Original Sin can be seen weekly on Streamz from Saturday, December 14. All eight seasons of the Dexter series can now be seen on Streamz.
