Die Maiwald

Die Maiwald is an German drama series which is aired on ZDF. The series premiered on March 26th, 2026.

The series "Die Maiwald" follows Johanna Maiwald (Doris Schretzmayer), a veterinarian in Maria Alm. She is an energetic, middle-aged woman who cares for all the animals her surroundings and rural life have to offer – from a cow with stomach problems and a nearly poisoned cat to a deer hit by a car, a depressed dog, and an injured calf. Johanna loves and lives her profession with heart and dedication. Her open nature, quick wit, and strong sense of justice mean that she recognizes and tackles not only animal challenges but also human ones.
