Dope Thief starts off well with a suspenseful story and strong acting, especially from Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura. The chemistry between the main characters and the cinematography immediately draw you into the story. However, as the series progresses, you notice that the tension decreases and the story loses focus. Some scenes feel forced, and the balance between humor and seriousness gets lost. Although the series touches on thematically interesting topics, such as friendship and moral dilemmas, it does not always succeed in working them out convincingly. All in all, a series with potential, but which unfortunately does not fully realize.
