Drop Dead Diva cancelled

The drama about aspiring model Deborah "Deb" Dobkins, who died in a car accident and was brought back to life as attorney Jane Bingum, has been cancelled.

Lifetime's decision to cancel the expensive drama, came after the cablenetwork had been approached by producer Sony Pictures Television with options to reduce costs in order to go on with the series. In spite of the cancellation, the ratings of season four were very high with 2.76 million viewers.

In Drop Dead Diva, of which the latest episode had been broadcasted in September, starred Margaret Cho, April Bowlby, Kate Levering, Jackson Hurst, Josh Stamberg, Lex Medlin and Carter MacIntyre. Last year the show became a hot item in the news after it had cast Kim Kardashian in a recurring role.
