Dutton Ranch - First episode
The latest addition to the Yellowstone franchise is Dutton Ranch, and this spin-off is probably the closest to the original. This is not only due to the presence of Beth Dutton and Rip but also because of the other characters we meet in the first episode. The script quickly reveals that this is not just a spin-off but rather a true continuation of Yellowstone. Although only three characters from the original series appear, it quickly becomes clear that Beth and Rip were the ones carrying the original in the recent seasons. This ensures that with the intro of Dutton Ranch, you are quickly back in the authentic Yellowstone atmosphere.

When Beth Dutton and her husband Rip go on a romantic trip across their land and spend the night under the open sky, a thunderstorm occurs, lightning strikes, and they lose everything they own.
With such an intro, the creators immediately bring you back into the authentic world of Yellowstone. Although Dutton Ranch is set in Texas, Beth, Rip, and their protégé Carter quickly find themselves back in a world where power games are the norm when they buy a ranch in Texas. That power is represented by Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), the patriarch of the 10 Petal Ranch and the head of the Jackson clan. This clan consists of two sons and a granddaughter. All three, like Beulah, already show what they are capable of.

Another interesting character we meet during this first episode is the local veterinarian Everett McKinney (Ed Harris), a Vietnam veteran with whom Beth quickly forms a professional connection.
Although they moved to Texas mainly to find peace, Beth and Rip quickly realize that not everything in Texas will go smoothly. The first confrontations between the Dutton clan and the local population already promise interesting plots.
Add to this the level of both the way everything is portrayed and the performances by the actors, and we are probably set for several seasons.
