'Elite' Renewed For Season 6

Netflix announced today that Elite has been renewed for a sixth season. The pickup is another early one for the Spanish drama, which just aired Season 4 this summer and isn't expected to return for Season 5 until 2022.

Since its debut in 2018, the series has been one of the streaming service's top Spanish originals, with each new season garnering a sizeable audience in International markets. For any scripted series to make it six seasons on Netflix is quite the accomplishment.

Elite follows a group of working-class students who are given scholarships to an exclusive private school in Spain. But their arrival clashes with their new wealthy classmates, and the tension leads to a murder, leaving everybody a suspect.

With Netflix yet to schedule a premiere date for Season 5, it could be 2023 before Season 6 hits. However, this December, three new short stories will be released.
