There is little to criticize about the acting in this series. That's just very good. So good, in fact, that it's very difficult to muster any sympathy for the father desperately searching for his son. That's an achievement for Cumberbatch. Normally you would sympathize very much with the father. But he makes that very difficult by really playing a turd of a guy. Later in the series you understand how he became this way and you gradually manage to sympathize with him. But damn, he makes that difficult. The mother is also portrayed strongly and there are edges to her as well. It remains unclear for a long time what happened to Edgar. If that finally happens, there will be a little surprise. The character from the title doesn't actually have a big role in the series, but it does play an important role. Well, you'll have to go see for yourself. But if you think Eric is some kind of paranormal apparition, you will be disappointed. This series is not about that at all. Anyway, this is a very nice mix of drama with a police series looking for missing people. In my opinion, definitely recommended. By the way, the story is finished. I see no leads for a sequel. It seems to me to be a one-off event series and it won't be a problem if that turns out to be the case.
Nice miniseries. Let me come in, where is this going? But it got better. Surprising. Not all storylines add something and some open ends. Not disturbing by the way.
