Euphoria fans receive a little bonus

HBO has announced a little bonus for fans of the Emmy award-winning series Euphoria.
This December, HBO is going to release two special episodes of this Emmy Award-winning show. It is not clear if these episodes are part of the second season or if they're supposed to serve as a bridge between the first and second season.

HBO wrote the following in a press release;
“The Emmy® winning HBO drama series EUPHORIA will return with two special episodes, with the first debuting SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The episode will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.

In the aftermath of being abandoned on a train station by Jules, the first special will follow Rue (played by Emmy®-winner Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. In this episode - which is subtitled Trouble Don't Last Always and has been written and directed by creator Sam Levinson - Colman Domingo has been given a special role, we already saw the hints of this in the first season. The title and date of the second episode are not yet known. Both specials have been produced according to the COVID-19 guidelines.

Euphoria received three Primetime Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series (Zendaya), Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (non-prosthetic) and Oustanding Original Music and Lyrics.

Euphoria was created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as an executive producer. Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Drake, Future the Prince, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady and Gary Lennon also serve as executive producer. Will Greenfield serves as co-executive producer. Produced alongside A24 and based on the Israeli series with the same name that was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, from HOT.

Is this now part of the new normal? That from now on we will report to series that they have been produced according to the guidelines of COVID-19? 😂😂 I don't mean it wrong, but it just makes me laugh a lot.

Christmas specials for series are pretty normal, right? What is so special about this? Except that everyone with a mouth mask has to act 1.5 meters apart.

Is it normal? None of the series I watch has Christmas specials. Normal episodes in a Christmas setting, but that is something else.

British series sometimes want to make a Christmas special outside of the normal seasons. Doctor Who always had that, until the BBC decided it should no longer be made for the fans and the whole series had to be different. With the series from the US, it is often episodes during the season that are shot in a Halloween / Christmas-like atmosphere.

Indeed, I am referring to episodes that have a special Christmas theme. Many series that I watch have (had) that. Often they are on a broadcast break around that time, but a Christmas-related episode is broadcast. I can probably find some examples, but I have to sit down for that ;-)
