Fallout - Season 2

Life in a Vault isn't perfect, but it's far from dangerous. In Fallout, is Lucy MacLean ready to face the harsh outside world after her sheltered life?
At the end of the first season of Fallout, we see Lucy being banished from Vault 4. Anxious but brave, she sets out this season with Walter, her unexpected ally, to find her father. Sure, there's no true love, and the Ghoul has his reasons, but any help is welcome.

Soon it becomes clear that even a Ghoul could use a bit of support now and then. Bit by bit, mutual respect and appreciation develop between the two travelers. However, the search for Lucy's father is not a smooth journey.

The world turns out to be full of groups trying to claim a piece of that same world. Power seems more addictive than oxygen. Everyone is scraping together the remnants of the old civilization to build a new little kingdom. Then they can play boss over the rest again.

Power seems to be more addictive than oxygen.

These warring factions do not make the long journey of Lucy and Walter any easier. On their quest, they must also try to deal with various dangers. And at the end of their journey, a mutual challenge awaits them; Walter's motives do not seem to align with Lucy's.

Yet not everything is doom and gloom. Their crusade also seems to be the right path for a few others as the season progresses. This occasionally results in unexpected assistance, although you shouldn't expect too much from that. Well-intentioned help is not always effective.

This season is a delightful follow-up to the somewhat slow first season.

This second season of Fallout is a delightful continuation of the somewhat slow first season. Each episode is full of exciting and sometimes comedic events. Through flashbacks, we get a significant number of answers to questions that were still open at the end of season 1. Various storylines are also followed that highlight certain events from different perspectives. Even those left behind in Lucy's Vault and their neighbors are not forgotten.

In short, the second season remains captivating and is a must-see for anyone who finished the first season. The creators give us a more complete picture of the world of Fallout and how it all came to be. The higher pace, combined with the many events, ensures it never has the chance to become boring. Nevertheless, you never feel overwhelmed with names and details as some series do. I won’t name names, but... cough-cough, The Witcher, ahem-ahem.

As for Fallout: just watch and enjoy. Oh, and the ending hints at the setup for the third season. That has already been confirmed and promises to be even bigger. Unfortunately, we have to wait until 2027 to witness that.
