Game of Thrones is een HBO-serie gebaseerd op de fantasyboeken 'Een Lied van IJs en Vuur' van George R. R. Martin. Het gaat over een machtsstrijd om de ijzeren troon tussen zeven verschillende adellijke families op het fictieve continent Westeros. Robert Baratheon is koning van Westeros, maar al snel ontdekt hij dat zijn troon zeer gewild is onder de adellijke families. Om het allemaal nog erger te maken staat er in het Noorden een oud kwaad op, klaar om het verscheurde Westeros binnen te vallen.

One of the better series if you like adventure, fantasy, sex, plot twists, intrigue, good storylines, spectacle, violence, excitement and chess at a high level! Once seen you are addicted and enjoy every minute. Medieval times really revive with this series.

1 of the few series that doesn't really drop anywhere, continues to surprise after 6 seasons and brings each season to a new highlight of the season finale .. look forward to season 7 .. Topper !!

GOT is rightly at the top of the favorite series on this site. Season 7 is unfortunately a bit less. The quality is still solid: the cgi, the sets, the actors. The story has lost some of its value to me. This has partly (I think mainly) to do with the large number of characters killed. If you look in the 'Actors' section on this site you will see that about 50 of the 80 characters that are depicted have now been referred to the exit. And very few have replaced them. Euron Greyjoy is an example of this. A colorful figure that gives the necessary buzz. But on the other hand, an important intriguer has been thanked for their services, which in itself makes sense if you as producers slowly work towards completion. Yet due to the lack of competitors, the remaining main protagonists are now longer and more often on screen, scenes are drawn out longer. There is less to tell. Despite my comments: great action scenes, some excellent plot twists and a completely unpredictable outcome. Because who will be left at the end of season 8? Who is then on the Iron Throne?
