Germinal

Germinal is a French drama series which aired on France 2. The series premiered on October 27, 2021.

The story of Etienne Lantier, enlisted in the Montsou mines. He meets the Maheus and falls in love with their daughter Catherine. She is courted by Chaval, a brutal worker. When the Mining Company lowers wages, Etienne, already revolted by this misery, rebels. Dreaming of justice, he pushes for a strike. The weeks go by, the starving strikers fight, but victims of violent repression, resign themselves to working.
