That's absolutely right. We have absolutely no confidence that this fun English series will be properly converted into cheap American entertainment with laugh tracks and the like. It has happened before that English series have been remade in the US and I have not seen one that has improved or at least been as good. Why don't they air the original version in the States? Probably because those Yanks always think they can do everything better. But unfortunately, in most cases they try to put on pants that are too big. This is also the case with, for example, good Swedish films that are translated into American uniforms such as the Millenium films. And I can name even more examples. No. No confidence and no desire to torture myself to watch this.
I have the original (English) version of The Office on DVD and have already watched it a few times. Brilliant. I haven't watched the US version. I saw that the Ricky Gervais role of "superboss" has been taken over by Steve Carell and I don't like that actor. That's why I never started it. But this is fun?
