Go, Diego, Go! is an animated series for toddlers and preschoolers and is a related series to Dora the Explorer. The show started on September 6, 2005 on Nickelodeon. The program is broadcast during the broadcast time of Nick Jr. In April of the year 2008, the series was released in many languages, including Spain. The primary purpose of the series is to teach preschool children to read, count, write and learn other basic needs. English words are also often used.
The main character of the series is a bilingual (English and Dutch) eight-year-old boy named Diego Márquez who helps animals in need with their problems, especially in the rainforest. He has a sidekick called "Baby Jaguar" who is assisting him with his rescues. Diego can talk to animals, so he always knows what to do.
Diego is Dora's older cousin; Dora can often be seen in this series as a guest player, without Boots. Diego also has a sister of 11 years old, her name is Alicia. She often helps Diego with his rescues, and can do many things with her computer, such as looking up information about the animals.
