Season two is set more than ten years after the events of the first season and once again brings back Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis in their leading roles. Several familiar faces are also returning, while new cast members had already been announced earlier.
Filming takes place in Vancouver, and the premiere is not expected until 2027. The series is based on the novel by James Clavell and was developed for television by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks.
With these new additions, Shōgun continues to build an international and diverse cast as the story further develops after the dramatic events of the first season.
