Grimm is een Amerikaanse fantasyserie van de zender NBC. De serie ging in première op 21 oktober 2011.
Grimm draait om Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) die met partner Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby) voor de politie van Portland werkt. Nick woont samen met zijn vriendin Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) die dierenarts is. Hij is als kind na het overlijden van zijn ouders opgevoed door zijn tante Marie (Kate Burton) die na een aanval op straat uiteindelijk aan de gevolgen hiervan komt te overlijden. Vlak hiervoor vertelt zij hem echter op haar sterfbed hun familiegeheim… Zijn familie stamt af van de familie Grimm en zijn verantwoordelijk voor de balans tussen de mensen en ‘Wesen’ hier op de wereld. Wesen (het Duitse woord voor wezens) zijn mythische figuren waarover de gebroeders Grimm ook in hun verhalen schrijven. Deze zijn echter niet verzonnen maar gebaseerd op deze wezens die tussen ons mensen rondlopen hier op aarde. Alleen Grimm’s kunnen deze Wesen zien voor wat zij echt zijn en met het overlijden van tante Marie moet Nick deze taak van ‘beschermer’ op zich nemen. Een taak waar hij in eerste instantie moeilijk mee om kan gaan. Maar met de hulp van zijn vriend Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell, bekend van Prison Break), een ‘Blutbad’ die Nick tijdens een van zijn zaken leert kennen, leert Nick gaandeweg wat het precies inhoudt om een Grimm te zijn.

Was normally not a fan of this kind of series but must admit that after seeing the season I was completely over. What a wonderful series (and seasons they are) Unfortunately they have stopped and I really hope there will be some kind of sequel and that is with the children of the main characters, but just a super good series! A big 9.

Cool series! I don't know what this compares to or how to describe it. It is truly a unique story, a unique "realistic fairytale world" in which you can fully immerse yourself.

In the beginning it is a bit of "income" with this series, but after a few episodes you are sold! It is a fun and exciting series and every time you are curious what kind of monster someone turns into. What I also like is that almost every episode is a new story. In short, definitely recommended!

It took some time before I could get into the series. Normally I don't like bloody series but after a few episodes I realized that bloody by "fairytale creatures" is different from bloody by "normal" aliens or people. After I accepted that I started looking again and now I enjoy watching. The transformations are done so well that it does not disturb. The actors play well and you see several well-known faces from other series, which makes you think quite often "where do I know them again?" Although the story is quite similar per episode, the common thread is made in such a way that you still want to look further. Nice series and certainly different from other series.

When I saw the trailer for this series, I was a bit worried that they were going on too much on the fact that it was derived from fairy tales, so it became more of a childish series. There is absolutely nothing to see here. It's a nice kind of crime fantasy series I love what I've seen so far and am looking forward to seeing the next one!

Nice, exciting series, but I think the concept of alla Buffy the vampire slayer and, for example, Charmed is a bit cheesy. So don't watch it for the originality as far as I'm concerned...
